Med 536  Introduction to Critical Care Medicine

This one credit elective course is designed to provide second year medical students with an introduction to critical care medicine. Building on the concepts covered in your Respiratory and CV courses, the course uses a combination of lectures, case presentations, time spent observing rounds and residents on call in the ICU, hands-on workshops and bedside teaching sessions with an ICU attending physician to provide students exposure to core topics in critical care medicine including shock, respiratory failure and sepsis.

The course is only open to second year students.
