The Puget Sound Youth in Context (PSYC) Lab studies how teens and young adults regulate their emotions and control their impulses, with a focus on alcohol and drug use. We work to understand how best to measure the ability of youth to self-regulate and how the measurement of self-regulation influences our understanding of how psychopathology develops. Moreover, we are interested in how a person's environment and interpersonal context influences that development.
