Brewery Bike Tour

The concept being that we jump on our bikes and just ride around to some of the breweries/brewpubs in Ballard/Fremont/U District.  Nothing too strenuous or stressful.
Now, the date we have settled upon - that seems to be best for the maximum number of people so far - is Sunday the 18th of September.  Hopefully the weather will still be nice!

The putative itinerary is as follows;
12 noon; Maritime Pacific Brewing Company (1111 NW Ballard Way)
1pm; Hale's Ales (4301 Leary Way NW)
2pm; Fremont Brewing (3409 Woodland Park Av N)
3pm; Elysian-Tangletown (2106 North 55th Street)
4pm; Big Time Brewery and Alehouse (4133 University Way NE)

* Disclaimer; times are meant to be an indication only.  We're going to be visiting breweries, we're going to be on our bikes, but most importantly of all, this is meant to be FUN AND RELAXING!  So, if you can't start with us, but want to find us along the way, call/text Nick. Please contact him for his number via email prior to Sunday.

UWPA Hike at Tiger Mountain!

The UW Postdoc Association will be leading a hike up Tiger Mountain on Saturday August 21st.  If you are interested in joining please meet at the Tiger Mountain Parking lot at 11am.

To find the parking lot, drive East on I-90 from Seattle to exit 20.  Turn right off the exit ramp and then take your first right.  Follow this road to its end where you will find the parking lot.

The tiger mountain trail is about 5 miles round trip and gains approximately 2000 feet of elevation.  The hike will take about 3-4 hours.  It is a moderate grade trail and very popular.  People should feel free to take a relaxed pace and enjoy the Pacific Northwest forest. Stunning views of the Puget Sound area can be seen from the summit.

Friends, family, and pets are welcome.  If you need to carpool please email Andrew

Don't forget your sunscreen, water, lunch/snack, and rain gear.  Hiking boots are recommended.

Dangerous weather (basically thunderstorms) will cause the hike to be canceled.  An email will be sent Friday before the hike if the hike is canceled.

When at the tiger mountain parking lot look for the guy next to a black Honda element with a golden retriever.

Hope to see you on the trail!
